Introduction

If you are going to be away from Pike School temporarily, you may wish to forward your email to another email account such as your personal account. When you forward email, a copy of each message and attachment received in your Pike mailbox is automatically copied to the other account. Forwarding email makes it easy to check one account, such as a personal account, for all mail collected from several mailboxes.

How To Forward Mail

Open FirstClass email.

Pull down the FirstClass menu and select Preferences.

Click the Messaging tab.

In the lower section of the window titled Automatically forward:

Click OK.

Important! Periodically, log into your Pike email account and delete old messages.

Explanation. When email is forwarded, a copy is retained in your Pike mailbox and another copy is sent to the designated email box. Be sure to login to your Pike email account occasionally and clean up! Accumulating mail can cause you to exceed your Pike email quota. If you exceed your quota, you will not be able to send email from your Pike account and your Pike email may become permanently corrupted.

How to Un-Forward Mail

Open FirstClass email.

Pull down the FirstClass menu and select Preferences.

Click the Messaging tab.

In the lower section of the window titled Automatically forward:

Click OK. (You do not need to change the Method: and Forward to: fields.)
