The Calcium calendar system allows faculty and staff to reserve rooms and equipment. Anyone may reserve the following resources:
You can log into the faculty calendar system in 2 ways. One way is to open a Web browser (e.g., Safari, Firefox) and go to:
http://calendar.pikeschool.org:8081/cgi-bin/calcium40.pl/calcium40.pl?Op=UserLogin
Alternatively, you can go to the Pike School home page at http://www.pikeschool.org. Then click Calendars at the left, and finally click Calcium towards the bottom, center of the page.
You will see a login screen. Enter your Name and Password for the calendar system, and click Login.
Tip! Create a Bookmark! For faster access in the future, create a Bookmark (also called a Favorite, or shortcut). You will need to go through the following steps just once.
If you're using Safari, simply drag the Apple icon from the address bar to the Bookmarks Bar as shown in this picture:

After you drag and release the mouse button, you will be prompted to type a name for the bookmark. Type Calendar Login and click OK.

When you're finished, you will see the new button shown below. When you click this button in the future, you will be asked for your calendar name and password. Then you will be logged into the calendar system and taken directly to the list of available calendars.

Click once on the calendar you want to use. The calendar will be displayed behind the list. Click this calendar to bring its window forward.
To reserve a resource, you must create an event.
To create an event, scroll to the desired month and then click the date you want. The example below shows May 4, 2006, but you should click the date appropriate for your reservation.

In the next window, you must enter your name and the desired time period. Then click Create Event.

That's it! Your reservation is complete.
To delete an event, navigate to the day where the event is displayed, and then click the date link.
In the next window, locate your event and click Delete. NOTE! You can only delete events you have created.

EtiquetteWhile the calendar system makes it easy to reserve resources, please do not abuse the privilege! Reserve resources only for the time you need them. If someone else needs the resource at the same time and asks your help, please negotiate a reasonable compromise.
Please do reserve common resources. Do not simply take a camera or occupy a computer lab without reservations.
